What to Do If the App Crashes
Frustrating — but fixable. And the first thing to know: your data is safe. Lova stores everything in a scrambled (encrypted) file on your device, so a crash can't corrupt or delete your cycle history.
Your data is never at risk from a crash
Try these first (takes 2 minutes)
Close Lova completely and reopen it
Swipe it away in your recent apps and open it fresh.
Restart your phone
A full restart clears temporary glitches that can cause crashes.
Check for a Lova update
An update may already fix the crash you're seeing. Check for updates in the early access programme.
Check your phone's software version
Make sure your iOS or Android is up to date — very old OS versions can cause compatibility issues.
1 Clear the App Cache
iPhone (iOS)
- 1 Go to your iPhone Settings.
- 2 Scroll down and tap General → iPhone Storage.
- 3 Find Lova in the list and tap it.
- 4 Tap "Offload App" — this frees up space without deleting your data.
- 5 Reinstall Lova from the early access link.
- 6 Your data is exactly as you left it.
Android
- 1 Open your phone's Settings app.
- 2 Tap Apps (or Application Manager) → Lova.
- 3 Tap Storage → Clear Cache.
- 4 Reopen Lova.
2 Check Your Phone's Storage
Running very low on storage (less than a few hundred megabytes free) can make any app unstable. Check your phone's storage:
- iPhone: Settings → General → iPhone Storage
- Android: Settings → Storage
Aim to have at least 500 MB free. Delete photos, videos, or apps you no longer need to free up space.
3 Reinstall Lova (Last Resort)
If nothing else has worked, a clean reinstall usually solves it:
- 1 First, export your data — go to Settings → Data → Export before uninstalling. This gives you a backup.
- 2 Delete Lova from your phone.
- 3 Reinstall using your early access link.
- 4 Import your exported data to restore your history.
4 Tell Us About It
Crash reports help us fix things faster. Go to Settings → Help → Report Issue and tell us:
- What you were doing when it crashed
- Whether it happens every time or occasionally
- Your device model (e.g. iPhone 14, Samsung Galaxy S23) and iOS/Android version
No health data in crash reports
