Logging Your First Cycle

One cycle is all Lova needs to get started. Here's what to log, step by step — it only takes a minute.

1

Log your period start date

Tap any date on the calendar — today, or a date in the past — and select "Period started". That's the first day your period began.

ℹ️

Already a few days in? No problem.

You can tap back to the actual start date. Lova lets you log periods up to several months in the past, so feel free to backfill if you remember previous cycles.
2

Choose your flow (optional)

If you'd like, note whether your flow is light, medium, or heavy. You can change this each day of your period. This is completely optional — Lova works fine with just the dates.

Light

Spotting or minimal

Medium

Normal flow

Heavy

Heavier than usual

3

Add extras each day (optional)

Each day of your cycle you can record more if you want. None of this is required, but the more you log, the better Lova's insights become:

Symptoms

Cramps, bloating, headaches — pick from a list or add your own

😊

Mood

How are you feeling emotionally today?

Notes

Anything else on your mind

🌡️

Basal temperature

Your resting temperature first thing in the morning (helps with ovulation tracking)

4

Log your period end date

When your period is over, tap that day on the calendar and select "Period ended". Now Lova knows your cycle length and can start building predictions for next time.

What happens after you log your first cycle?

Lova estimates your next period — based on your average cycle length. After 2–3 cycles the predictions get more accurate.

Lova shows your fertile window — the days when pregnancy is most likely, if that's relevant to you.

Patterns start appearing — see whether your cramps always peak on day 2, or whether your mood dips before your period.

Your data never leaves your phone

Everything you log is stored in a scrambled (encrypted) database on your device. No cloud account needed, no data uploaded. It's yours.
