Adding Home Screen Widgets

Put your cycle summary on your home screen so you always know where you are in your cycle — without opening the app.

Quick Overview

1

Long-press your home screen to enter edit mode

2

Tap the + or Widgets button

3

Search for Lova and choose a widget size

4

Place the widget on your home screen and tap Done

Available Widget Sizes

Lova offers a few widget sizes so you can choose how much information shows on your home screen:

  • Small (2×2): Shows your cycle day number and a simple indicator of where you are (period / fertile window / luteal phase)
  • Medium (4×2): Adds the predicted next period date and a small cycle ring visual
  • Large (4×4): Full overview — cycle day, phase, next period countdown, and your recent log streak
🔒

Widgets Are Private by Default

Lova widgets show only what you choose to display. If you want to keep your cycle info private from anyone who sees your screen, you can switch the widget to a discreet mode — it shows a simple colored ring instead of text. Tap the widget, then tap Settings → Widget Display → Discreet.

Adding on iPhone (iOS)

  1. Long-press any empty space on your home screen until icons start to wobble
  2. Tap the + button in the top-left corner
  3. In the widget gallery that appears, scroll down or search for Lova
  4. Tap Lova to see the available sizes
  5. Swipe through the sizes and tap Add Widget on the one you want
  6. Drag it into position, then tap Done in the top-right corner

iPhone Lock Screen Widgets

On iPhone (iOS 16 and later) you can also add a small Lova widget to your lock screen:

  1. Long-press your lock screen and tap Customize
  2. Tap the widget area below the clock
  3. Scroll to find Lova and tap the widget to add it
  4. Tap Done

Adding on Android

The exact steps vary slightly by phone brand, but the general process is:

  1. Long-press an empty space on your home screen
  2. Tap Widgets (sometimes called "Add Widgets")
  3. Scroll to find Lova, or use the search box
  4. Long-press the widget size you want and drag it onto your home screen
  5. Release to place it, then tap anywhere outside to finish
💡

Widget Not Showing Up?

If Lova doesn't appear in the widget list, make sure the app is fully installed and you've opened it at least once. On Android, you may need to scroll past a long list — searching by name is faster.

Customising Widget Appearance

To change what a Lova widget displays after placing it:

  1. Long-press the widget on your home screen
  2. Tap Edit Widget (iOS) or Widget Settings (Android)
  3. Choose your display preferences: standard or discreet mode, which phase to highlight, and colour theme
  4. Tap Done

Removing a Widget

To remove a Lova widget:

  • iOS: Long-press the widget → tap Remove Widget → confirm
  • Android: Long-press the widget → drag it to Remove at the top of the screen

Removing a widget doesn't delete any of your Lova data.
