Setup Steps
On your device: Settings → Sharing → Add Partner
A QR code appears on your screen
On partner's device: Settings → Sharing → Join Partner
Scan QR code and confirm pairing
Simple Setup
Before You Start
You'll need:
- Lova installed on both devices
- Both devices nearby (for QR code pairing)
- A way to send your partner a file (AirDrop, Files, or your messaging app)
Choose What to Share
After pairing, select what data to share:
- Cycle predictions: Period dates and upcoming predictions
- Fertile window: Ovulation estimates (great for TTC)
- Current phase: Follicular, ovulation, luteal, menstruation
- Pregnancy status: Week and milestones (if in pregnancy mode)
You Control Everything
How Updates Work
Partner sharing sends a snapshot of what you chose — not a live feed. Updates are not automatic:
- Your partner sees your data as of the moment you shared — their screen shows a "data as of…" label
- To share newer data, share again - the new snapshot replaces the previous one on their device
- Nothing appears on their phone until you re-share and they import it
Why a snapshot, not live sync?
Managing Partner Access
Change Permissions
- Go to Settings → Sharing
- Tap your partner's name
- Toggle data types on/off
Remove Partner
- Go to Settings → Sharing
- Tap your partner's name
- Tap Remove Partner
- Confirm removal
Removing a partner ends the connection on your phone, so you stop sharing new snapshots. A snapshot your partner already received stays on their device until their app removes it, and it cannot be recalled from screenshots or copies made outside Lova. Automatic remote removal is not turned on in the current release.
Privacy Assurance
Partner sharing is designed with privacy in mind:
- Data is shared directly between devices - no cloud servers
- Encrypted on your device with AES-256 before it's shared
- You control exactly what's shared
- Revoke access anytime, instantly
