Forgot PIN or Password
Options for regaining access to your Lova data if you've forgotten your PIN.
Important: Privacy by Design
Lova cannot recover or reset your PIN. This is intentional—your data is encrypted on your device, and only you have access. This ensures maximum privacy but means PIN recovery options are limited.
1 Try Biometric Unlock
If you enabled Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint before forgetting your PIN:
- 1 Open Lova and tap the biometric icon (if shown)
- 2 Authenticate with your face or fingerprint
- 3 Once in, go to Settings → Security → Change PIN

2 Restore from Backup
If you have a backup file and know its password:
- 1 Uninstall Lova from your device
- 2 Reinstall Lova from your app store
- 3 During setup, choose "Restore from Backup"
- 4 Select your backup file and enter its password
- 5 Set a new PIN during the setup process

3 Sync from Another Device
If you have Lova installed on another device that you can access:
- 1 On the accessible device, go to Settings → Backup → Create Backup
- 2 Transfer the backup file to your locked device
- 3 Reinstall Lova and restore from this backup
4 Last Resort: Reset App
If no other options work, you can reset the app. This permanently deletes all data.
To reset the app:
- 1. Uninstall Lova from your device
- 2. Reinstall from your app store
- 3. Set up as a new installation
